Description

Trade Boston’s streets for the rugged beauty of coastal Maine on this two-day journey of ocean views, granite cliffs, and classic New England charm. Traveling north along the scenic coastline, the trip blends historic landmarks, dramatic landscapes, and relaxed seaside towns. Departing Boston, the route winds through forests and shoreline communities toward Fort Williams Park. Here, Portland Head Light, commissioned in 1791 under George Washington, watches over the Atlantic. From its cliffside perch, guests enjoy sweeping ocean views, crashing waves, and iconic coastal scenery. Continuing to Acadia National Park, granite mountains meet the sea across forests, cliffs, and shoreline. Guests explore the park’s highlights while learning about its natural history and conservation. Cadillac Mountain, the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard, offers panoramic views of islands, forests, and open water. Next, visit Sand Beach, a rare soft shoreline between rocky headlands. Its pale sand and turquoise water provide a striking contrast to the surrounding cliffs. At Thunder Hole, waves crash into a narrow inlet, creating booming sounds and bursts of sea spray—a thrilling natural spectacle. After a day of exploration, evening allows time to relax before the next day’s coastal adventures. On day two, travelers may join an optional ecological cruise along Acadia’s shoreline, spotting seabirds, seals, and hidden coves while learning about the coastal ecosystem. The journey ends in Bar Harbor, a charming town with seafood, shops, and waterfront views, before a relaxed return to Boston, leaving lasting memories of Maine’s ocean cliffs, mountain vistas, and refreshing Atlantic air.
