Description
The Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park is the largest recreation area in metro Boston, featuring activities such as beach yoga, hiking, summer jazz concerts, and Civil War-era forts.
Choose to visit either Georges Island or Spectacle Island. Note departure times for each island before booking, as this is a direct ferry service with no interisland connections.
Island Details and Departure Times
- Georges Island: Departures at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 2:00 PM. Explore Fort Warren, participate in ranger-guided tours, visit the visitor center, or enjoy a picnic. Don’t miss the legend of the Lady in Black.
- Spectacle Island: Departures at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM. Enjoy panoramic views of Boston Harbor, relax on the beach, and hike the island trails.
Return ferries depart one hour after the original Long Wharf departure using your initial ticket.

Important Information
- Food and drink can be purchased on the ferry and brought onto the islands. The islands operate a carry-in, carry-out trash policy—please take all waste with you.
- Your ticket includes timed departure and open return ferry trips.
- Plan for at least 4 hours including ferry travel: approximately 45 minutes to Georges Island and 30 minutes to Spectacle Island.
- The ferry is wheelchair accessible. However, not all island areas are accessible.
